The submitted work (from 2006) represents a major evolution of my work. The 3rd dimension has been obtained through modelling the canvas. Before fixing the canvas onto the wooden support, I have created folds and waves to give movement to the painting. The onlooker must move around the canvas to see every angle of the painting’s story. The ruffles in the canvas, which can be as deep as 12in, are not clearly perceived in these 2-D photos. |
